My Mother passed away last weekend, July 3rd. It was very unexpected as her health had been stable for the past year or so. She didn't show up for church on Sunday & one of the ladies (a nurse actually) went to check on her. House was locked & she called my sister to ask if she wanted her to go inside. My sister told her where the spare key was & she found her where she had fallen just outside the kitchen. She had been cooking dinner & apparently had a heart attack. We miss her greatly but she was one of the most spiritual people I have ever known & I truly believe she is in heaven, reunited with her loving family & my niece Brooke.
Here is the obituary with a slideshow that is a snapshot of her life. Miss you Mama.

So sorry, this must have come as a shock and I hope you and your family are doing OK. And yes, I am sure she is safe, through the gates Heaven surrounded by her beloved family. Prayers coming out to you.
oh DFW - my heart goes out to you. it is so difficult when someone passes unexpectedly because first there is the shock to deal with and then, the grief. she seemed like a beautiful lady and she will welcomed with open arms by her family in heaven. be good to yourself for the next little while, allow the shock, hurt and grief it's time. but also remind yourself throughout the next while of all of the funny things she ever said or did, all of the kindness she gave to others and all of the love that was her life.
i am sending special thoughts, prayers and love to you and yours. your friend,
kymber
p.s. - is she the one who taught you to sew/quilt?
This is my first time to your blog. I watched the whole slide show. Your mother had beautiful eyes. My mother lingered, so sudden may not be the worst way to die.
Thank you Hot Flash.
Thank you Kymber. She taught me to sew, but not to quilt. I just remember my Grandmother quilting & decided to take it up on my own just recently.
Thank you Linda.
Sending my sincere sympathies to you and your family. Losing a mother or father is something that is especially hard, but we all have to go through it. You can tell how special she was by the way all the children seemed so happy to be around her.
She had beautiful, beautiful eyes.
Thank you Mama Pea. I had never noticed her eyes until I saw them "on the big screen" at the viewing. They seemed to be looking right at you. Very emotional evening for me.
Thank you for sharing the celebration of your mother's life with us. She was a lovely woman, and your family looks so wonderful. I know you will miss her something awful.I thoughts are with you and your family.

Thank you for sharing your Mom's obituary, I loved watching the video of her life growing up with family and friends.
Keeping you close to my heart, and sending blessings.

Dallas - My deepest condolences on your loss.
May happy memories of your Mama bring you solace in those darkest minutes, smiles and warmth of remembrance and sharing the good times, and peace within.
Her eyes are what were most prominent in the slide show - happiness and warmth shone through in each picture.
As heartbreaking as the suddenness was, it is better then a slow, lingering ailment. Not an easy time, my friend, and I send you ((hugs)) from where I am to you in Dallas.
Thank you 1st.
Thanks Tonya.
Thank you Sandy.
