My Sister & BIL (L&R) asked us to go to a FL campground with them over Labor Day Weekend.
Hart Springs Park is located in Gilchrist County about an hour from Gainesville, FL. It was about 2.5 hours from home. We were in site #21 & L&R were in site #22.
We got there on Friday afternoon (after driving through a few downpours) & had just gotten setup when my sister arrived. They got partially set up & we headed out to dinner at Akins BBQ in Bell, FL, about 10 miles away. They brought our Great Niece - Natalie. Then my niece, her husband & other Gret Niece - Avery came down on Sunday morning.
The actual Spring is 3/4 of a mile from the CG. Thank goodness they brought their golf cart. We took Natalie to the Spring on Saturday morning. She was more interested in the splash pad & the pool than she was the Spring. We had slaw dogs for dinner & called it an early night.
Her Mom/Dad/Sister came the next day & we headed back to the water. Nat was more willing to swim in the springs with her Mom & Dad. Avery was fine with anything, as long as she was participating with everyone else. Here's a long shot of her being brave in the splash pad.
The Springs have several different areas to wade in, or jump off platforms, or just stand around & enjoy the cool (72) water. Since it was Labor Day, there were a lot of people there on Sunday but it never seemed too crowded. Security kept everyone in line & if they saw some that didn't have arm bands or were acting up, they made them exit the premises. We had cheeseburgers for dinner on Saturday night.
We went back to the springs on Monday & were very surprised that there was hardly any people there. Not a problem for us. There's a misting bridge that connects some of the springs to one of the picnic areas. I took this pic from that bridge.
After a fun day in the water, we had Ribs, Potato Salad & bacon wrapped green beans for dinner. Niece & family left on Monday & it came a really good rain which made for a very nice nap.
The pups also enjoyed themselves, especially having Nat come over several times a day & helped me feed them or take them for a walk.
My sister & I got up early on Tuesday morning & walked the board walk (about 1.5 miles).

Part of it is on the Suwannee River & we hoped to see some Sturgeon jumping.
We did! None were this big (stock photo) but there were several smaller ones. People have to be very careful when boating or Jet Skiing, as they will jump up in front of you & if you're going fast, can cause injury to you.
It rained every day & while the weather wasn't stiffling, it was warm & the rain cooled it off considerably before dinner time each night.
