Quilt Gifts & Merry Christmas

I finally finished  & gifted some of the quilts I have been working on. Some, for a very long time. It feels good to have them done so I can begin work on a few new projects next year. Although, the tendons in my wrist (from thumb) have gotten worse so I will be taking the entire month of January off. Other than surgery, the Dr. said that non-use is the only thing that will heal them. Oh well, such as it is with aging!

Here are photos of the finished quilts.

Step Mom Quilt
I used leftover weave fabric to create the binding for this one.

Two friends Quilt
I finished 2 of these for friends. Only difference is the borders & binding. I still have mine left to finish.

For a dear friend who loves Christmas.
Wish I had swapped out the upper right block with the lower left one to make it more balanced. But, you don't notice when it is wrapped around your legs keeping you warm.

Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Years Celebrations. Stay safe out there!

All are beautiful, Deb! They are truly labors of love. (You started work on the middle one on the first quilting retreat we went to!)

We are all getting so excited about the FW Lovers Retreat in February. After taking all of January off from sewing, I know you'll be ready to do some marathon piecing!

Merry Christmas to you and your sweet hubby!

Thank you Susan. Yes, those 3 just about made me not want to quilt anymore, haha.

What lovely quilts you make! And you're so right, why is it that we don't see something that we would have changed until everything is all done? But I do think the wished-for switching of those two block in the Christmas-colored quilt is totally unnecessary. It's beautiful as it is.

Hope your month of rest cures the tendons in your wrist. What a pain! (Literally.) Too bad you have to rest for January . . . such a good quilting month!

Happy New Year to you and yours!

Thanks Mama Pea!. If only I would follow my own treatment instructions to take it easy. My outdoor feral cat needed a little something extra to keep warm last week. I had a small test quilt that I bound for him, paying the price the last couple of days. Oh well, at least I can use my hands in certain ways. Happy New Year to you & Papa Pea. I hope he is recovering well.
